    • Unload the filament from your hotend.

    • Move the extruder higher than the Rambo cover.

    • Open the Rambo cover lid.

    • Unplug USB connector (for Octoprint for example).

    • If at some point you are unsure about wiring check carefully the Prusa manual pages.

    • The controller board images in this guide are coming from the Prusa manual pages: https://manual.prusa3d.com

    • You will need a Female to Female Dupon cable to shortcut the thermistor connector.

    • Alternatively you can cut an old thermistor and connect both wires together (the wires that are on the connector side).

    • Here is an example on how to connect the Dupon cable for the next steps. Note the position is only for the example.

  7. Turn the printer on.
    • Turn the printer on.

    • The printer must instantly emit noisy bip just after having started.

    • The Err: MAXTEMP error message should be displayed on the printer.

    • The displayed hotend temperature should show a very high value. (See example picture: 739/0°)

    • Unplug the Dupon test cable and plug back the hotend thermistor. Make sure that the displayed hotend temperature is back to a normal value.

    • Turn off the printer.

Hello Grégoire, as I have a Prusa MKiii (3) which cuts down the system everytime when I want to heatup my hotend . In other words, I set the hotend for PLA, than push go, the system stops. iow: There is a safety features within the firmware which stop the hot end from heating if a fault is present . On this moment I didnot found the fault yet. However, thanks for your contribution, whichs helps me a lot, in the right direction, probably a small issue, but difficult to find. Hi Ben. In the latest firmware 3.12, Prusa has implemented a new safety for the hotend and it is very precise. If you are using a different hotend than original V6 then you might get a Thermal Anomaly error. Prusa is collecting data from users with E3D Revo hotend to make this hotend compatible, if this is the hotend you are using and you like to help, please share your data here: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmwar...
